About This Screening
We are celebrating the opening of our fall season and the beginning of our 11th year with a night of live music and 16mm projector performances! Matt Carlson (of Golden Retriever) teams up with Cinema Project's own Mia Ferm to pair Carlson's dense and dynamic modular synth sounds with dreamlike loops of celluloid composed, manipulated, and projected by Mia. Following, will be more live music with projections of discarded gems drawn from artist Stephen Slappe's vast 16mm found footage archive. The evening will be carried into the night by DJ DNA (XRAY.fm, Splash), who specializes in finding and showcasing the groovy jams hidden in the sonic residue of the 80's.
