About the Season

This season Cinema Project presents two more programs as part of Beyond Borders, our international visiting artist and curator series that we began in spring of 2009. The aim of Beyond Borders is to bring together more diverse artists and audiences through the presentation of non-mainstream international film and video. This September, German filmmaker Jeanne Faust will be in Portland for two nights to present and discuss her work. In November, we're teaming up with Disjecta—Portland’s contemporary art center—to bring Japanese filmmaker and installation artist Tomonari Nishikawa to Portland. Beyond Borders programs have been supported in part by a grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust—investing in Oregon’s arts, humanities, and heritage—and by grants from the Regional Arts & Culture Council and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
